Garage Door Repair in Snoqualmie, WA

Snoqualmie is really two towns for our purposes, and they call us for different reasons.

Snoqualmie Ridge was built fast and built together. Whole streets went up within a few years of each other with the same builder-grade doors and the same openers, which means they reach the end of their service life together too. When we replace a stripped opener gear on one cul-de-sac, we are often back on the same street a few months later for a neighbour with the identical symptom. There is nothing wrong with those doors — they simply all started counting cycles on the same day. If yours is original to the house and the house is old enough to be showing its age elsewhere, it is worth having the springs looked at before they break rather than after.

Historic Snoqualmie, down by the river and the falls, is the opposite problem. The garages are older, often detached, sometimes converted from something else. Openings settle and go out of square, hardware has been replaced piecemeal over decades, and it is common to find three different brands of part on one door. Those jobs take a little longer to diagnose and we would rather spend the extra ten minutes than replace a roller that was never the cause.

Across both, the valley damp does its work: rust at the spring coils, seized bearings, cables that fray from the inside where you cannot see them.

Frequently asked questions

My opener runs but the door does not move. Is the opener dead?

Usually not. That symptom is most often a stripped plastic drive gear or a broken spring — the motor is fine, it just has nothing to pull against. Both are far cheaper than a new opener.

Are you on the Ridge as well as in old town Snoqualmie?

Both, and there is no difference in what we charge to reach either.

The door is fine but it has got very loud. Does that matter?

It usually means rollers or bearings are wearing. It is not urgent, but noise is the cheap warning that comes before an expensive failure.
