Carnation sits at the north end of our valley, where the Tolt meets the Snoqualmie and SR-203 runs through farmland. It is the most rural of the four towns we cover, and the drive up from North Bend is a straight run — so despite the distance, Carnation is an easy call for us to take.
The housing here skews older, and older doors fail in a specific order. Rollers and hinges wear first and the door gets loud. Then the bearings at the ends of the torsion tube dry out and start to squeal. Then a cable, frayed on the inner strands where nobody could see it, gives way — and the door drops crooked and jams in the opening. Almost every emergency call we take in Carnation had a noisy warning stage weeks earlier. If your door has changed its sound, that is the moment to have it looked at, not after it jams.
Farm and shop buildings add their own list. Wide doors, high headroom, and hardware that is often original to the building. We are happy to work on those, but wide spans need the right spring sizes on the truck, so it helps to tell us the approximate width when you book.
Damp is the constant. Valley-floor air near two rivers keeps steel wet, and wet steel rusts: coils, drums, roller stems, the lot. Lubrication is genuinely the cheapest maintenance you can do here — a few minutes twice a year on the rollers, hinges and springs buys years.

Frequently asked questions
Is Carnation too far for a night call?
No. SR-203 is a straight shot from our end of the valley and we run 24/7.
My door squeals and groans but still works. Can it wait?
It can, but it is telling you something. Squealing is usually dry bearings or worn rollers, and those are inexpensive to replace now and inconvenient to replace after a cable snaps.
What maintenance actually helps out here?
Lubricate rollers, hinges and the spring coils twice a year, and keep the bottom weather seal intact so water is not sitting against the bottom panel. That is most of it.
Can you handle a wide barn-style door?
Yes — give us the approximate width on the phone so we bring the right springs.
